You might remember: “My Life with Sue”

This next piece is the complete opposite:
It’s the story of My Life Without Sue,
during certain moments when we are apart in the winter.

The concept.
The scenario of the music.

Following the intro,
a female voice appears.
In my mind, that’s Sue, far-away in Montreal.

Then, a mute trumpet takes the spotlight.
That’s me, moaning, wailing, expressing how much I miss her.
You can still hear her voice in the background during the trumpet solo.
The interaction of both, in my opinion, is quite interesting.
A subtle long distance tête-à-tête you might say.

The Saxophone then plays the same melody
that the voice introduced in the beginning.
It makes us realize, this is the theme.

Harmonized voices fade out on that same melody line,
reminding me, that we will be together again very soon.
